Density-operator approaches to transport through interacting quantum dots: Simplifications in fourth-order perturbation theory
Various theoretical methods address transport effects in quantum dots beyond single-electron tunneling while accounting for the strong interactions in such systems. In this paper we report a detailed comparison between three prominent approaches to quantum transport: the fourth-order Bloch-Redfield quantum master equation BR , the real-time diagrammatic technique RT , and the scattering rate ap...
متن کاملAdiabatic pumping through interacting quantum dots.
We present a general formalism to study adiabatic pumping through interacting quantum dots. We derive a formula that relates the pumped charge to the local, instantaneous Green's function of the dot. This formula is then applied to the infinite-U Anderson model for both weak and strong tunnel-coupling strengths.
متن کاملNonadiabatic pumping through interacting quantum dots.
We study nonadiabatic two-parameter charge and spin pumping through a single-level quantum dot with Coulomb interaction. For the limit of weak tunnel coupling and in the regime of pumping frequencies up to the tunneling rates, Omega less, similar Gamma/variant Planck's over 2pi, we perform an exact resummation of contributions of all orders in the pumping frequency. As striking nonadiabatic sig...
متن کاملTheory of dephasing by external perturbation in open quantum dots
The anomalous magnetoresistance of bulk disordered systems is governed by weak localization ~WL!. Being an interference phenomenon, it is extremely sensitive to inelastic processes commonly referred to as dephasing. Recently, another object for the study of quantum effects appeared—ballistic quantum dots. In the absence of inelastic processes, the transport properties of the dots are well descr...
متن کاملPhonon affected transport through molecular quantum dots.
To describe the interaction of molecular vibrations with electrons at a quantum dot contacted to metallic leads, we extend an analytical approach that we previously developed for the many-polaron problem. Our scheme is based on an incomplete variational Lang-Firsov transformation, combined with a perturbative calculation of the electron-phonon self-energy in the framework of generalized Matsuba...
